About Svensk Resebransch

Svensk Resebransch (The Swedish Travel Industry Association) has been the trade association for Sweden’s travel and tourism industry since 1937. We represent the majority of the country’s travel companies and have approximately 300 member companies, accounting for around 85% of the industry’s total turnover.

Our members range from small independent travel agencies to large tour operators, event organizers, online travel agencies (OTAs), and destination management companies (DMCs). They serve both Swedish traveller’s going abroad and international visitors traveling to Sweden, covering both business and leisure travel across Sweden and destinations worldwide.

Our Mission

Svensk Resebransch is the voice of Sweden’s travel companies, working to promote and strengthen the travel and tourism industry. We produce industry statistics and insights on key issues affecting the sector, organize seminars and training programs on topics relevant to the travel industry, and provide our members with advice, guidance, and up-to-date information.

We safeguard our members’ rights and interests in matters affecting the industry as a whole, while also helping them understand and meet their obligations. In addition, we contribute our expertise to policymakers and public authorities by participating in inquiries and consultations concerning legislation and regulations that affect our members’ businesses.

Internationally, the Swedish Travel Industry Association works closely with other European travel associations through ECTAA, the European umbrella organization based in Brussels. Through this collaboration, we actively engage in influencing policy and legislative decisions at the EU level. We are also represented on relevant boards and committees at both the national and international levels.

Membership – A Mark of Quality

Membership in the Swedish Travel Industry Association is a recognized mark of quality. Member companies commit to complying with our Code of Conduct, Articles of Association, and industry guidelines. They are required to operate a professional travel business, demonstrate sound financial standing, maintain the legally required travel guarantees with the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency (Kammarkollegiet), and have their business registered in Sweden.

Members are also expected to follow the recommendations of the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN), even though these recommendations are not legally binding, as well as the travel advisories issued by Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs (UD).

TRAC

Svensk Resebransch is the principal owner of  TRAC – Travel Academy, the travel industry’s professional education provider for tourism and travel consultants. The program equips students with the knowledge and skills required to work for tour operators, travel agencies, or within the wider tourism and hospitality sector.
